ENTICING FLUORESCENT VINYL FILM

Sep 1, 2023

There is no doubt that the ever-popular and well-loved promotional fluorescent vinyl film for short-term promotions attracts attention and increases readability. So, no wonder it’s a customer favorite here to stay. Although fluorescent vinyl film is bright, flashy, and fun, there are some important caveats to consider when deciding the most appropriate applications for this eye-catching option customers deserve to know and understand.

Color Palette

The most popular fluorescent colors usually consist of six hues of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and pink. However, some products will only offer a three-color palette. Various shades may also be offered such as red-orange, yellow-green, and even purple. Neon colors generally have the same color availability as fluorescent also. Fluorescent reds and fluorescent yellows tend to be most susceptible to fading with UV exposure.

Promotional-Grade

Promotional-grade fluorescent films (whether cast or calendered) are best for short-term durability applications such as automotive aftermarket windshield graphics and accent stripes, retail window signage, trade show exhibits, point-of-purchase displays, die-cut letters and numbers, and screen-printed decals. Due to pigments used in fluorescent film, UV exposure will increase fading, so interior use or limited exterior use is suggested. Retail promotions and indoor signage are great settings for short-term graphics, especially
fluorescent red and yellow.

Long-Term

Promotional fluorescent vinyl film is fairly limited to short-term applications of six months or less. However, to increase the outdoor durability and reduce the effects of UV light on fluorescent vinyl film, keep the film out of direct sunlight or apply with a UV-blocking overlaminate.
