What does "Shelf Life" mean?Shelf life is the maximum period of time a material should be stored prior to processing. For FDC branded products this period begins at the date of sale from FDC to the distributor and is intended to provide fresh material for the end user to process. During this period of time FDC accepts and evaluates all claims for processing. A materials performance will change as it ages and at some point will no longer process or handle like new material. This change can affect the facestock, adhesive, liner or a combination of all. Claims for materials related to processing that are out of shelf life are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. FDC follows manufacturer published timelines for branded products (3M, RTape and ASLAN).
